INFORMATION ABOUT HANAS(KANAS) LAKE
Hanas(Kanas) Natural Sight Region
Reserve
Hanas(Kanas) natural sight region reserve lies in the north
of the Burjin county, is a all round natural sight region
reserve, its total area is 5,558 square kilometers. Within
this region reserve, there are headstrem of two big branch
of Erqis River--Burqin River and Habahe, there is the highest
peak in the Altay mountains--Friendship apex which is 4,374
meters high. There are 374 agent flickering glacier, the longest
Kansa glacier, is 10 kilometers long. These melt water brought
up the Kanas natural sight reserve.
Hanas(Kanas)natural sight region reserve is made up of green
muddy quartzite? powdery sandstone? quartzite, etc, and mica
of Haixining period, is a classic ladder transect mountain,
the mountain's height has very big difference,vertical natural
sight is very obvious, from the foot of the mountain to top,
there are seven national sight regions, namely black calcium
earth meadow grassland region? hilly country gray and black
taiga belt? hilly float taiga belt? subalpine meadow belt?
alpine meadow belt and permafrost belt, etc. Complicated landform
physiognomy and natural sights provided favorable conditions
for various animals and plants' survival. This place a unique
distributing region of Siberian animals and plants north of
ancient Europe in our country, there are about one thousand
kinds of plants,thirty-four sorts of animals? over one hundred
sorts of birds? seven sorts of Reptilian amphibian? over three
hundred kinds of insects? eight kinds of fish. Wood have high
and big arbor like Siberian larch? Siberian spruce? Siberian
red pine? Siberian fir, and so on, they blot out the sky and
ward off the sun, composing the characteristic virgin woods,
it is the existent most integrated woods in aboriginality.
The trees strew at random orderly in woods, high and big arbor
have two and three meters different height' wild rose? gooseberry?
honeysuckle and spiral Siberian climates. There are also lichen?
Siberian clematis and bilberry, etc. various colorful wild
flowers covered whole mountain outside the woods, red peony
and erberry flowers, blue myosotis? big funnel flowers, yellow
canary-creeper, flower-de-luce, white dependence flower, black
aconitic flower, there are birches? Altay poplars? red poplars?
gray poplars? Sayan willows? etc along the ravine and valley.
There are various animals in different height in woods, rare
red deer? snow leopard? grouse? cabrite? thunderbird, tree
frog? black bee? white butterfly, etc.
There is a Hanas(Kanas)lake in the center of region reserve
hilly country forest. Kanas lake is made up of the huge compound
glacier in the second ice age, now there are many relics of
glacier around the lake, lake surface is 374 meters high,
lake is 25 kilometers long, and is 1.5--3.9 kilometers wide,
area is 37.7 square kilometers, is about eight times of Heavenly
Lake. The deepest water level of the lake is below the 176
meters, water quality the rate of mineralization is about
0.2 or so, in July and August, water temperatures over 200
degrees, margin of temperature in the day and at night is
12 centigrade or so. Lake water flux is about 50 cubic meters
per second, variational height surface of lake is not overrun
50 centimeters. Because of steady water capacity, the bank
of lake is very placid, swamp plant is very flourish, so it
becomes a ideal place where fish and water bird spawn and
raise up seeds, there are many rare fish in the lake.there
are rare birds like swan? black crane, etc in summer in the
lake.
The word "Kanas" belongs to Mongolian language,
means beautiful? rich and mysterious. Kanas lake is very beautiful
and rich, but has a little mysterious surely. People observe
the surface of lake in different climate and different position,
and will find that water have different color: overlook the
surface from mountaintop, water is thick blue in fine day
and is gray green in cloudy day and is ivory with a little
blue and green in summer,like a crystal mirror in winter,
so people also call Hanas(Kanas) lake as "change color
lake", it is one place of the "mysteries".
Two place of "mysteries" is: long long ago, people
of this region found that there was "bugbear of lake"
in Kanas lake. They often heard strange voice in the lake
and looked at very high water column in the lake. What it
is that did mischief, people still haven't found out the fact,
its real reason which need exploring more.
Hanas(Kanas) is natural sight region reserve, whether from
the terms of genic type of species? natural scenery? geologic
physiognomy or the terms of remains of ancient culture to
look at, it has very big scientific review price.
